Under the guidance of the mining company CERRO VERDE (in this case on a project for the water industry), Centork and the consortium Alto Cayma (Abengoa, Befesa, Graña y Montero and Sedapar) have once again installed 33 actuators in the water treatment plant “La Tomilla ll”, in the city of Arequipa, the second most populous city in Peru after Lima. The cost of the construction has increased to 55 million Euros.
This plant takes water from the river Chili by means of a 11-kilometre piping system terminated by a valve regulated by a Centork actuator, responsible through modulation for the production of the plant, which varies depending on the city’s needs. Due to the pressure on the valve and its resulting vibration, the valve has been implemented with a remote control unit.
